1. General information
The master´s final project (MFP) is intended to be the closing piece of the program, in which students must show that they are able to deploy and bring into play their own competencies for the development of the sociology of public and social policies. These approaches and objectives are aligned with the following SDGs of the United Nations 2030 Agenda in such a way that the acquisition of the learning results of the subject provides training and competence to contribute to some extent to their achievement: Goal 1: End poverty; Goal 3: Health and wellness; Goal 4: Quality education; Goal 5: Gender equality; Goal 16: Peace, justice and strong institutions
2. Learning results
The MFP is the "place of synthesis" where it is shown that the general objective of the master has been fulfilled and that the student has come to understand, propose and participate in the processes of public space, understood as the responsibility of all citizens.
To a large extent, this will be the moment when the capacity to analyse the different dimensions of public and social policies from a multidisciplinary and systemic perspective, both at a theoretical and applied level, is deployed. On another level, it also shows that the student is capable of designing responses and management models for emerging challenges in the public space, in a plural and complex society, through public and social policy proposals. Also, they are able to evaluate the praxis of public and social policies from a multidisciplinary and systemic perspective.
3. Syllabus
The enrolment of the MFP will be formalized in the same way and within the same deadlines as any other subject of the master and will entitle the student to participate in two calls for the defence of the work corresponding to the academic year in which the registration has been made.
The MFP is governed by the Regulations for the elaboration of the degree and master final project of the Faculty of Economics and Business (see faculty website).
As the MFP is a personal and individualized learning process, it is accompanied by a director appointed for this purpose. In this process of dialogue and interaction, steps are being taken for training in the research and development of the chosen topic.
Each student must establish a written agreement with their MFP director delimiting the subject matter and fundamental contents. The form to be filled in is available on the Faculty's website.
All the teachers of the master are possible directors of the MFP
4. Academic activities
At the beginning of the term, the MFP is explained in one of the introductory sessions, where the formal, critical and content elements are described.
In the subject review session held after the end of the first term, students are encouraged to establish their topic and agree on the teacher who will direct their MFP. The calls for the defence of the MFP are established by the Faculty of Economics and Business
5. Assessment system
For the evaluation of the MFP, the Academic Committee of the master will appoint each year the corresponding board of examiners that will be formed by three teachers of the master (President, Vocal and Secretary) that will evaluate the works presented in the corresponding calls.
A previous report from the director of the work, authorizing its presentation and defence will be a requirement for the presentation of the MFP. The Director's Report will be enclosed in a sealed envelope and will include the grade assigned to the MFP that they has directed.
The defence of the MFP will be carried out by the student in a public session, by means of an oral presentation of its content or its main lines. The student will then answer the questions and clarifications posed by the members of the board of examiners.
The grade will be awarded on a numerical scale from 0 to 10, to one decimal place.
If the result of the final grade is not satisfactory, the board of examiners will give the student and the director of the project the recommendations it deems appropriate. Likewise, the board will draw up and sign the evaluation form and the corresponding grade report. The president shall make it public and forward it to the master's coordinator.
The evaluation criteria for passing the MFP are as follows:
